On May 9th a group of GLA's grade 8's went to investigate the effects that the Industrial Revolution had in South Africa by visiting VWSA in Uitenhage. The Social Science outing turned out to be interactive loads of fun and spot on educational. Just one of the ways we as GLA try to and make learning relevant and creative.

Visit to Ithemba Pre-school

On a cold and rainy Friday 18th of May, a several Grade 8 learners from Global Leadership Academy kidnapped Bester the Rinoserus and Ivorus the Elephant! They then took the captives to entertain the children at Ithemba pre-school... bringing with them a gift pack of much needed art-materials, sticky-sugary suckers and a CD full of lively songs!
The kids shouted, clapped, danced and sang to the beat of Bester and Ivorus’s active dance music, clearly enjoying the stories and the interaction with the Grade 8’s. Money for the project was “earned” by washing cars during the Easter weekend. Well done grade 8’s!
