Construction Commence

thumbFor the past 7 years through our outreach programs we have laid numerous foundations around the world… but today we are laying our own.

The foundation for the first of 10 log homes that will be used as student and teacher accommodation on our new GLA Eco Campus Development has been prepared and inspected, and will today be poured with 8 cubes of concrete. We celebrate this day as a testimony of our God and King and His glorious way of doing things which is so different than our ways!

Here follows a photo update on the progress made over the past few months!

1. 130 Logs with an average lenght of 11 Meters were delivered on site for the construction of our first log cabin.

2. These logs had to be debarked and then treated. With an amazing team of volunteers this was done over a 5 week period.

3. Last week week was the climax in a year long process of obtaining municipal approvals and permissions! By the grace and provision of God we were able to pay all service aggreement fees and pass the first "site inspection" prior the starting of construction.

4. Breaking of ground! On Friday, 9 November we started with excavation of the foundations for the first log home. It didn't take to long for us to realise we will save a months worth of construction time making use of a more adequate means of digging...

If all goes according to plan, we will lay the foundations this afternoon and then on to construction of our first log home.
