Grade 8 Camp News

grade-8-campthumbOn Thursday, 12 January Global Leadership Academy’s new Grade 8’s left for their first high school camp at Loerie Ruskamp.  Upon arrival ice breakers were played and lunch was shared in small groups.  With the aim of the camp being to get to know each other better and to break down the barriers that divide, they had to complete a challenge while being tied together.  They had to complete tasks like fishing out a watermelon from a swimming pool, eating the watermelon and learning all the teachers’ names at one place and then go and write down the names at another point.  The camp also included a “Loerie January” horse racing competition and encouraging one another around the campfire while enjoying banana boats.  On Saturday, 13 January they returned, ready to face the year alongside each other.
