Step out in Faith with us

GLAGlobal Leadership Academy has been given 7 hectares of prime property near Fountains Mall for the development of a school, complete with our very own sports facilities, housing and classrooms for 250 pupils.

For those of you who thought this to be only a rumour, we have a surprise: it is already becoming a reality!

Let us take you on a journey to show you where we come from and give you a clearer picture of where we are heading:

Some of you have been with us from the very beginning, some of you only became part of the family recently, but in some way, you have all walked a road of faith with us, and if ever there was an opportunity for us to unite in faith and resources, now is the time!

We can boldly testify that the Lord has brought us thus far and that the road travelled lies scattered with markers of His hand and favour upon us.

Looking back over the past 6 years since Global Challenge Expeditions was established, it is easy to recognise some of those moments.

View The PlansWhere we come from:

2006 – Anne-Marie Franken pioneers the first Global Challenge Expedition and 10 South Africans travel through 25 countries in 11 months.

2007 - The first truly GCEX expedition is launched with 24 team members.
- The first 80 Days trip is pioneered.

2008 - More short term expeditions are added and over 70 students take part.
- More than R500 000.00 is raised and more than 80 homes rebuilt after the Red Hill Disaster in the Cape Peninsula.
- Property in Tulip Street – Jeffreys Bay is made available for us to use as offices.

2009 - For the first time three GCX One Year teams go out and Explore Africa is launched.
- The Short Term Expeditions department grows in stature and mobilises more than 300 students.
- God directs the leadership of Global Challenge Expeditions to open a school that will have an intentional leadership program focussing on developing leaders from a young age.

2010 - The school - Global Leadership Academy - is opened with 95% off the staff being ex-Global Challenge participants. 60 Students are enrolled before opening day.
- Hidden World is added to the GCX One Year cluster of expeditions.
-R90 000.00 is raised within a few days and more than 2000 families are provided food for a month in the Niger Relief Project
- Cross Border Conference is held in Jeffreys Bay with more than 300 students going out on outreaches.
- Seven hectares of property is donated to us for the development and building of a school/mission base in Jeffreys Bay.

- 44 students participate in the various GCX One Year teams.

Request More InfoThe Future:

- God provides for us to develop the land into a modern day education facility with an international green rating. The school is designed to leave an eternal impression, not only in the minds of pupils, teachers and visitors but also to stand as a landmark of innovation and forward thinking for the generations to come.

We believe God has brought us to this very defining time in the story of Global Challenge Expeditions. It is a time where the potential for bringing Him glory is more than ever, but the risk of failure and shame is also a reality. During the past few months a new level off  “seeking the Lord’s heart” has developed in the hearts and minds of us as leadership and family in Jeffrey’s Bay with the realisation that the task set before us asks more faith than ever before.

As you are reading this, we are faced with the challenge of raising the first critical sum of money needed to set the development in motion: 5 Million Rand.

The total scope of the development stands at more than R60 million rand.

It has been regularly prophesied that the new home of Global Challenge Expeditions and Global Leadership Academy will be an internationally recognised place of instruction / discipleship / training and education for leaders from across the globe.

As exciting and ambitious as this might sound, we do believe that this is what we have been called to.  A team of architects and engineers have volunteered much of their time and expertise and we have already handed in the Site Development Plan to the municipal authorities. We seriously mean business.

Become an ActivistWhy investing in us is a great idea:

-Gratefully God’s favour is with us in the starting of this project. It is in the acknowledgement of this fact that we, in humbleness and dependence on Him, again declare that it is through Him alone that we can succeed in this venture.

-Global Challenge Expeditions Trust is an established NPO with a core focus of developing leaders through real life experiences; such as serving the poor and uplifting communities in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa and globally.

-Investing in Global Challenge Expeditions gives investors the opportunity to further empower and grow an already effective and existing ministry with momentum and influence.

-Our track record proves that we are good stewards of that which are entrusted to us and we are able to grow ideas into working ministries; influencing people and communities around us. Our director and founders’ monthly salary of less than R5000.00 a month testifies that our lives are committed to the cause.

- The school, Global Leadership Academy, is registered with the Department of Education and fully functional with currently 165 students enrolled from Grade 8-11. There is already a waiting list for 2012. The school will be at its full capacity of 250 students come 2012 and accommodate Grade 8 - 12. You are therefore investing in a venture that is sustainable and already impacting the lives of children.

-The architect’s plans, working drawings, etc. are already in an advanced stage and we are looking to start with ground work and installation of services middle of 2011.

- All the architects and other experts working on this project have offered their expertise and services either for free or at very low rates. This is an encouraging sign of a venture that is worth the sacrifice and investment of those involved. People looking to leave a true legacy, a legacy which will even outlive this generation.

We therefore ask you to act in a way that will truly contribute towards the cause.
